Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) are responsible for a range of financial functions including the issue of curreny and control of money supply.
The RBF plays an extremely vital role in the economic success of Fiji. As profoundly laid out in their vision – “Leading Fiji to Economic Success”.
January 1, 1984 saw the Reserve Bank of Fiji Act, 1983 come into effect, establishing the central bank of Fiji as the RBF. This legislation was approved exactly 119 years after the start of banking in Fiji.
As of 2016, the RBF is located in Fiji’s first skyscraper, and its still tallest building in the country in Suva. Sitting 18 stories high, the construction of the building was completed in 1984.
