ANZ Bank Fiji stands tall as the largest bank in Fiji with around 40% market share in 2016. The bank currently has 16 branches around the country.
The ANZ banks in Fiji can trace their roots back nearly 150 years ago today. Well-off businessmen in Auckland initially established the Fiji Banking and Commercial Trading Company Limited in 1873.
Just 3 years later, the owners sold their share of the bank to the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ). Fast forward 100 years or so, and ANZ acquired BNZ’s operations in 1990. Ending a long 114 years of BNZ ownership.
ANZ are currently the only bank in Fiji to provide Rural Banking Services. Over 471 communities and their schools are able to be serviced with the 6 teams ANZ has going around the country.
They are a strong believe is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and conduct many efforts to support the local Fiji community. Volunteer programs, sponsorships, the ANZ Staff Foundation are just a few of the ways the bank gives back to its customers.
